Ocean Lava Regulation Lanzarote2024

ARTICLE 1. GENERALITIES

The Ocean Lava Lanzarote is a triathlon event with three modalities: Supersprint, Olympic and Middle Distance. It is organized by K3 Servicios Deportivos Integrales SL, with the collaboration of the Tías City Council, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the Government of the Canary Islands and different private entities. The test is sanctioned by the Canarian Triathlon Federation. The Olympic distance will have a team modality, which will perform the distance in relays. Each of the disciplines will be covered by a different athlete. One person will do the 1.5 km of swimming, another the 40 km of cycling and another the 10 km of running. These teams may be made up of participants of different gender, age or
physical condition that will compete in the same category. You can find more information in this regard in Annex III of these regulations.

ARTICLE 2. EVENT DEVELOPMENT DATES

The date of the event will be October 26, 2024.

ARTICLE 3: SPORTS BEHAVIOR AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The Ocean Lava Lanzarote is celebrated with absolute respect for the environment. Although, for safety reasons, the race will be held on a circuit closed to traffic, participants will respect road rules in towns and public roads. Participants who display paramilitary attitudes, defend the
terrorism, show violent or xenophobic attitudes, or throw garbage in nature.

ARTICLE 4: REGISTRATION, CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES OF OWNERSHIP
4.1. INSCRIPTION

Only registrations made through the website www.oceanlavalanzarote.com will be accepted.
Each participant must correctly fill out their personal data, since these will be checked by the organization during the withdrawal of numbers. The registration period will be from November 24, 2023 at 12:00 until November 20
October 2024 at 11:59 p.m., or until places are sold out. The different price periods are shown below:

4.2. CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION

People registered for the Ocean Lava Lanzarote in 2024 will have two options to cancel their registration:

4.2.1 CONTRACTING RETURN INSURANCE.
The test will have return insurance with a cost of:
SUPER SPRINT: 10€
OLYMPIC: 20€
HALF DISTANCE: €40
This insurance includes the refund of the registration (except the amount of the insurance and the contracted services). In the event that the event is canceled due to a health alert decree or if the participant is affected by a health alert both in the country of origin and in Spain, the organization will return the full amount of the registration (except the amount of the insurance and contracted services) until the date of the race. The refund will also be effective up to 30 days before the race (except for the amount of insurance and contracted services) given the following duly justified cases via email info@oceanlavalanzarote.com:
– A serious injury or illness, accident, or death of those who participate, of their spouse or partner or their first degree ascendants/descendants.

– A serious illness that requires hospitalization or the death of your spouse or partner or your first-degree ascendants or descendants up to thirty days before the event.

4.2.2 WITHOUT CONTRACTING RETURN INSURANCE.
The registered person who does not contract the refund insurance at the time of registration may have a refund of a percentage of the registration amount (not counting the contracted services) based on the following dates:
– Until May 1, 2024: Refund of 60% of the registration.
– Until June 1, 2024: Refund of 50% of the registration.
– Until September 1, 2024: Refund of 40% of the registration.
After September 1, 2024, the race organization will under no circumstances refund the registration fee to those participants who have not contracted refund insurance.

4.3 CHANGES OF OWNERSHIP.

They will be allowed up to 30 days before the race. Registered people who want to transfer their number to another person must communicate it in a timely manner through the email info@oceanlavalanzarote.com. This procedure will cost €10.

ARTICLE 5: PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
5.1. GENERALITIES

In general, all participants of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote must:

5.3. MEDICAL CERTIFICATE

5.4. ACCIDENT INSURANCE

All participants of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote must be willing to of accident insurance in accordance with the R.D. 849/1993. For those participants who, at the time of registration, do not have a own accident insurance, they must subscribe, at the time they carry it out, insurance valid for the day of the test.

ARTICLE 6. IMAGE RIGHTS, ADVERTISING AND DATA PROTECTION.
6.1 IMAGE RIGHTS

The organizing entity reserves exclusively the right to the image of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote, as well as the audiovisual, photographic and journalistic exploitation of the competition or for research purposes. 6.2 ADVERTISING

SECTION 7. REMOVAL OF DORSALS AND CLOTHERS.

ARTICLE 8. PROVISIONS

ARTICLE 9. ABANDONMENTS

Withdrawals for reasons other than accidents or injuries that prevent the athlete from moving under their own power must be made at the Aid Stations. ARTICLE 10. REGULATIONS, SAFETY RULES AND GENERAL BEHAVIOR

penalized with immediate disqualification.
– It is the obligation of each participant to carry with them any waste they generate: packaging, paper, organic waste, etc., to the places marked and enabled by the organization.
– The food carried by the participant must be marked with the bib number.

– Every participating person must follow the route marked by the organization. – Participants must follow, at all times and throughout the entire route, the instructions of the members of the organization.

– The competition is governed, in aspects not included in this document, by the regulations of the Spanish Triathlon Federation.

12.2. TRANSITION ZONE

The organization reserves the right to suspend or cancel the test for causes of force majeure, under the prescription of the competent authorities and/or phenomena adverse weather conditions. In this case, the registration fee will not be refunded. Participants' expenses will be covered. Likewise, the people responsible for the race direction may suspend, shorten, modify, neutralize or stop the race for safety or force majeure reasons beyond their control and not attributable to the organization (weather, adverse situations of the sea, alerts decreed by the authorities, etc.).

ARTICLE 15. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS OF THE REGULATION

ARTICLE 16. WAIVER OF LIABILITY

ANNEX III. RELAY TEST - SPECIFICATIONS

All those who wish can participate in the Ocean Lava Lanzarote relay event, up to a maximum of 20 teams, as long as they register as a team of 2 or 3 members. The team event will only be held at the Olympic distance, with each of the team members having to cover one, or two in the case of teams made up of two people, of the modalities. Each of the members will finish the competition at the established distance. Time will not stop from the departure of the first member until the arrival of the last. To do this, you must register on the website www.oceanlavalanzarote.com
Teams made up of three people must each perform one of the modalities. That is, one person will swim 1.5km, another will do the bicycle circuit (40km) and the other will run 10km on foot. In the event that the team is made up of two people, one of them will perform two modalities and the second, the remaining modality. This team must inform the organization by email to info@oceanlavalanzarote.com no later than 15 days before the relay distribution test.
– There will be a specific relay area enabled for this competition that will have an approximate length of 15 meters. Any relay carried out outside this space will be considered a serious foul and will lead to the disqualification of the team.
– The relay will be completed when the finishing athlete contacts his hand, or places the chip on the next reliever within the relay zone.
– If the contact (or chip change) occurs outside the relay zone, the team will be disqualified.
– If the relay is not carried out, the team will be disqualified.
– Before the relay takes place, the athletes wait in the relay area under the orders of the Officials.
– Only the last member of the team is allowed to cross the finish line

For everything not included in this annex, it will be governed by the official regulations of the Spanish Triathlon Federation 2024.
